BREATHWORK

Breath is the one involuntary thing you can also do on purpose. It runs on its own, and it will also take instruction. That doubleness is the doorway: through the breath, you can reach the parts of yourself the conscious mind does not usually have access to.

The breathwork I facilitate is a conscious-connected practice; a two-part inhale and a released exhale, with roots in Indian pranayama traditions. What it does in the body is specific, and worth knowing plainly:

Active, connected breathing creates a temporary shift in oxygen and carbon dioxide balance. Adrenaline releases; cortisol rises, briefly. The body moves through a short inflammatory response and then into a strong anti-inflammatory rebound; blood alkalinity rebalances; endorphins release. Research associates this kind of breathing with reduced symptoms of anxiety, insomnia, PTSD, depression, and difficulty with attention. None of that is mystical. It is what the breath does to a nervous system on purpose.

What you experience is less predictable, and that is part of it. Sometimes people encounter memories, images, presences, grief, clarity, or forms of knowing they did not arrive expecting. The active breathing can move energy that has been held still; emotion can surface and then resolve into calm, euphoria, an unguarded peace. Some people meet vivid images or uncanny clarity; others meet pure sensation with no pictures at all.
The body decides.

You are not regulating yourself alone in the room. I am there—a steady, attuned presence your nervous system can borrow from and entrain to. That borrowing has a name, co-regulation, and it is much of why the work works. When the active breathing settles, the session closes in stillness, with reiki, so that what was activated has time and company to integrate.

REIKI 霊気

Reiki is often described as energy healing, and that description has gone vague enough to mean almost nothing. So let me say what it actually is in my hands.

Reiki is a practice of relational attention. A particular quality of attuned, unhurried, hands-on (or hands-near) presence, held long enough and steadily enough that your nervous system can shift. What shifts is real and physiological: the system moves toward parasympathetic; the state in which the body stops bracing and becomes able to rest, repair, and integrate. From there, what needed tending—emotional, physical, the things that sit between those categories—has the conditions to be tended.

What people experience varies, and I won’t flatten that variability into a single explanation. Warmth, coolness, a current. Sinking down, floating, drifting. Colour, or no colour. Complete connection, complete void. Emotion that surfaces, or simply a deep, held quiet. There is no correct experience. The work is in the attunement between us, not in performing a particular outcome.

Often I close sessions with reiki. The breath activates and moves; the reiki gives what was moved the stillness and company to settle.

A note on lineage

My maternal line is Japanese. Reiki, for me, is not a modality I picked up, it is a thread back into my own heritage, into traditions of healing and of attention that the women in my family carried. I practise it as homage, and as a way of keeping that line alive and tended. (More on the line itself is on the Lineage page, and in how I think about healing the line.)

ASTROLOGY + TAROT

Recorded readings:
A recorded symbolic reading delivered privately. Designed to be listened to slowly, and revisited over time.
Tarot and natal-chart readings are available in this format.

Live sessions:
Available online. In-person sessions reserved primarily for ongoing mentorship clients and longer-form work.

Mentorship-integrated readings:
Within HELD and other long-form containers, tarot and astrology become ongoing interpretive tools woven through the larger work.

Tarot and astrology are not predictions. They are languages: symbolic systems for perceiving what you already partly know but cannot yet say plainly.

Symbols are not inert to me. A symbol does something analysis cannot: it lets you stand in more than one place at once. Where a person has hardened into a single story about themselves, a symbol re-opens the field—it offers movement where things have gone fixed. That is what these systems are for. Not fortune-telling. Closer to a kind of cognition; thinking with image and pattern instead of only with argument. Understanding arrives symbolically before it can arrive logically.

I work with them seriously, as systems with histories and technique. And I keep them porous. A reading is not a decoding or a performance of certainty. It is the two of us participating with symbols until they begin to talk back.

Tarot readings

Reflective, not predictive. A reading is a way of looking at the patterns and beliefs that are running beneath a situation—usually beneath conscious notice—and finding, in them, more room to move than there seemed to be. Tarot, here, is a compass for navigating your life at any given moment. Not a forecast of it.

Astrology

Astrology, as I practise it, is pattern mapping; not a prediction of events but a map of the tendencies, tensions, and timing a life is working with. A natal chart is a description of a particular instrument; it does not tell you what to play.

I study astrology in the Hellenistic tradition, with teachers who take its technique seriously. It is rigorous and it stays open — which is, in fact, the whole disposition of this work.

Tarot courses + mentorship

I teach tarot as a practice you can take into your own hands — a way to interrupt repetitive thinking, to think symbolically, to find your footing through a transition. Private and small-group mentorship with these systems is also available, woven with nervous-system awareness and grounded practice.

A note

I have been intuitive all my life, and in relationship with forms of perception that exceed straightforward analysis. What I offer is not certainty or prophecy, but a way of reading—with you, never over you—that leaves the authority where it belongs: with you.

RITUAL + CEREMONY

Ritual is not aesthetic spirituality. It is embodied meaning-making. Bounded action, undertaken with intention, that does something a conversation cannot. It works because humans are symbolic, relational, somatic creatures: we mark thresholds with our bodies, not only our minds. A threshold that is ritually marked is crossed differently from one that is merely passed.

I design ritual the way an artist designs an installation; making the conditions, the atmosphere, the sequence in which something can unfold. Beauty and atmosphere here are not decoration; they are functional. Humans become permeable through the senses. Sensory experience changes the nervous system, and a nervous system that feels safe, met, and slightly in awe is one that can let something move. Atmosphere alters what becomes reachable.

Rituals

Extended private sessions—two to five hours—built for a particular person and a particular passage. There is time in them for the nervous system to settle, for the real material to arrive, and for what moves to be integrated before the session closes. Each one is made, not repeated.

Ceremonies

For the moments a life turns; beginnings and endings, anniversaries, milestones, the rites of passage that older cultures marked and ours often leaves unmarked. For couples, families, groups. A ceremony gives a transition a form, so that everyone present crosses it together and on purpose.

Blessings + cleanses

For homes and for businesses. A new start, a reset, a protective layer. For a space that has held something heavy, or that is about to hold something new. Or simply care for the atmosphere of a place over time.

Arranging

This work is powerful, and it is private. Rituals and ceremonies are arranged in conversation, never booked from a menu, because each one is shaped to its occasion.

Pricing varies by format, duration, and scope of work, and is discussed in conversation.

Begin with a discovery conversation, or start here, and we will find the shape together.
