The connection to Reiki is a connection to something beyond our current empirical understanding, beyond our five senses…
…the initiation and practice of Reiki is an opportunity to move past our (perceived) limitations…
…beyond the reality that we have been conditioned to believe in.
Reiki is not something easily explained and often simply just described as: energy healing. That description is vague enough to mean almost nothing, so let me say what it actually is in my hands as an experience: Reiki is a practice of relational attention taking place in ourselves, with the seen and unseen environment around us, and also towards someone else (if we choose). It is a particular quality of an attuned, unhurried, hands-on (or hands-near) presence, that is held long and steady, which our nervous systems can shift towards. This is real and physiological; our systems move toward parasympathetic—the state in which our bodies can stop being braced, contracted, and become able to rest, repair, and integrate. Inside this state, whatever needs tending—emotional, physical, and anything that sits inbetween these categories—is in the condition where it is gently tended.
What people experience in this state varies, and it’s a disservice to flatten that variability into a single explanation. Warmth, coolness, a current. Sinking down, floating, drifting. Colour, or no colour. Complete connection, complete void. Emotion that surfaces, or simply a deep, held quiet. There is no correct experience! The work that happens is in the attunement, not in performance towards a particular outcome. This counts both for when we are engaging in reiki for self, as well as with reiki with others.
As a modality to work with energy, reiki is used as a healing practice. It works as a regulation tool, one that soothes the nervous system of our self first. It then works as a co-regulation tool that soothes the receiver (when we work with others). Reiki has been effectively used in hospitals and palliative care. Whilst science hasn't—yet—been able to explain how and why reiki works, it has shown measurable benefits.
~ Usui Shiki Ryoho is a specific form of Reiki practice passed down through a particular lineage from the founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui.
~ The practice of Usui Shiki Ryoho awakens greater awareness, and deeper experience, of our presence.
~ This Initiation includes the held teachings, transmitted, carried within the lineage. You will hold the secret and unique teachings of your specific line of this closed practice.
~ This Initiation includes attunements (handed-down rituals) which will connect you to the energy of Reiki for a lifetime, allowing you to guide your self and others into states of healing.
~ This training covers the first two levels of reiki attunements and teachings. Enabling you to work with reiki in-person and from a distance.
~ Why reiki 1 + 2 together?: over these years, almost all of my reiki 1 shoden students have continued on to reiki 2 okuden. I've come to realise that teaching the two levels together offers my students the most knowledge and allows them to engage more fully in this practice.
霊気 reiki initiation is a container of direct experience. It is a training to work with an energy healing modality, yes, and it is also a weekend of healing. Reiki a living practice with ongoing invitations to come back to ourselves and connection. It reminds us that we have permission to receive.
My students have reported emotional and psychological awakenings and newfound empowerment; clarity and grounding; meaningful life shifts; and the ability to create tender spaces within themselves to come home to, as well as a greater sense of connection to life itself.
The weekend isn't just a training, it's a container for presence and healing, a threshold. It's my honour to walk with you.
We will be practicing during our time together, and you will be asked to practice after the training for 21 days (practicing can be as little as 5 minutes). During the 21 days you will have support from me if any questions or reflections arise. After the three weeks we will connect either irl or online for follow-ups.
If you have any questions, you can email me directly or we can book a short call so we can discuss reiki and the training.

OVERVIEW
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a hands-on energy practice that supports relaxation and nervous system regulation. Practitioners use specific hand placements and attention to direct energy, which supports the body’s own capacity to heal and rebalance.
What Reiki is not:
Whilst reiki is complementary to other healing practices, it doesn’t replace medical care.
Why train with me:
• Small groups (so you actually receive attention and practice)
• Grounded in both the lineage/history of reiki and contemporary nervous system science
• Emphasis on listening, consent, and meeting people where they are
• No spiritual requirement. Reiki works whether or not you identify as spiritual and is not contingent on any particular belief system
• Ongoing support and mentorship throughout your practice
Level 1: Foundation SHODEN (initiation)
• Learn the history and principles of reiki
• Receive your first four attunements (energetic initiations that activates your ability to channel reiki)
• Learn hand placements for self-treatment and treating others
• Practice giving and receiving reiki in a small group
• Develop foundational understanding of energy, chakras, and the nervous system
• Level 1 is the foundation so you can practice reiki on yourself and others in a non-professional capacity
Level 2: Deepening OKUDEN (hidden teachings)
• Experience and receive a second attunement ritual
• Learn three reiki symbols that expand the scope and focus of your practice
• Learn distance reiki (working with someone who isn’t physically present)
• Deepen your understanding of how reiki works with the nervous system and subtle perception
• Develop more refined sensitivity and intuitive capacity
• After Level 2, many practitioners begin offering reiki professionally or within their communities
What does the training include?
Nine hours training over one weekend, in a small group, plus follow-up meetings and support
Attunement rituals passed down through generations, connecting you to the energy of reiki
Theory, embodied practice, and hands-on supervision
21-days after training support for questions and reflections
Two follow-ups (dates decided together)

Everything you need to know to begin practicing reiki for yourself and other
I’m a Reiki Master and rites of passage guide, trained to hold space for genuine healing and connection. My work across these practices shares a common root: creating environments where we can meet ourselves more fully, and make contact what’s actually alive in our bodies and our subtle perceptions.
My academic background is in women’s intellectual history, installation art, and ancient mythologies, which shapes how I teach reiki. Rather than presenting reiki as a set of isolated techniques, I aim to contextualise the practice within its own depth and history, whilst grounding the teachings in physiology, nervous system literacy, and what actually works within the practice.
Reiki offers a framework which some engage in as a spiritual practice, or others with a philosophical approach, and some will meet it within its physiological and meditative properties. All are possible. No belief required; curiosity and presence are enough.
Over a thousand hours of one-on-one and group work in Berlin has taught me, by listening and meeting the needs of the participants, how to hold space that’s both rigorous and tender. I approach reiki as one thread in a larger artistic inquiry into how ritual, presence, and subtle perception reshape our experience of place and body in profound ways.
I’m American of Japanese descent, and I’ve lived in Berlin for fourteen years.
